Hey Carl! My name is Sissy, I absolutely love my Dremel 4000! You and your channel have helped so much so Thanks for that! How ever I just started with my hobby so I’m still learning and trying to buy things when I can because it’s a hobby and I have bills plus I started redoing my house because of a mold and mildew problem I accrued when we had a flood a few years back. Sadly I’m doing one room at a time I just got my drywall up and 1st round of mud now things are drying.

This video has made me want this attachment for my Dremel because I have a back door in this room I’m redoing now and the door is to outside well it’s been nailed shut for some time now I’m going to get it open and I have to change out the door hardware because it’s an OLD Skeleton key system lol. Now I’ve looked ALL-OVER for this attachment and can NOT find it. (I even went to mom & pap forgotten hardware stores & still can’t find it! It’s very sad ) Can you recommend a good small hand planer?

Thanks so much

This is one of the greatest attachments ever invented. I had to shave off some 1x3 wood to fit into a metal stand. It was a lot faster than using a Stanley surform shaver or plane. Then I discovered (like the creator of this channel) that it works great in shaving off the top of a door that was not seating properly. I own a lot of electric planers, but they are a bit unwieldly to use on door that is already hung in place. The Dremel attachment made the job a lot safer to perform.

That’s an impressive attachment! My 4300 though doesn’t have those engagement slots. Maybe they’ll bring out one to fit.

I didn’t know they made this. Wish I had one. Cool idea.

I could have used this last weekend when I took my door off to trim a little off so it would clear my bath mats. instead i just used that black plastic guide that comes with it and a construction ruler held by hand. LOL needless to say i have a couple of interesting grooves under the door from the cutting bit. You can't tell they're there. But i know they are. Hahaha!!

Pretty impressive, I assume that it would give a perfect straight edge too?

Sears sells their own model of this which is an exact match.

like your videos greatly. One thought would be, could you please tell what speed you are running the Dremel at for the various attachments that you are videoing. Again, very helpful.

I'll start by saying you gave a nice demonstration of this attachment. My biggest pet peave and probably is the same for many other viewers has to do with a simple edit before uploading the video. Its mainly based around people who demonstrate tools and equipment that is audibly loud and the YouTuber doesn't fade the volume during times in the video that the tool or equipment is on or running. Nothing to fret over during the video shoot itself. Editing after the shoot you could trim high pitched volumes by half or more to make your videos more pleasing to the ear. If you cut the volume all the way out during those times you could still make positive use of those clip segments by filling them with "Audio B Roll" recorded separately and spliced in. I understand that the majority of my comment has been detailed and critical. Regardless of that part, again it was a nice demonstration you provided and Thank You for that. I'm really just trying to also convey a friendly tip that if you could implement those kinds of edits in future videos I would think that your viewership would increase. It would certainly draw in people like me to check out more of the content you might offer.

How does the PL400 connect to the Dremel 4200?

Are there third party attachments similar to this? Harbor Freight sells compatible bits for other purposes so I am hoping there is someone who makes a comparable one like the planer since the PL400 is impossible to find and when it does come on eBay it sells for three times the original price
