John 19:23-42 - Skip Heitzig

Jesus suffered a gruesome death on the cross. Not only that, but the majority of his followers abandoned Him in His greatest hour of need. In this message we examine the Roman practice of crucifixion, and what Jesus must have felt as He paid the atoning sacrifice to save us from our sins.

Pastor Skip you are by far my favorite teacher of the Bible. For years I would read it or portions of it rather and would always feel lost and didn't understand it. Now I can read a chapter and watch a study and it is so helpful. Thank you for helping me with my walk with Christ. Also I've been having terrible anxiety for the first time in decades. Thanks for this wonderful teaching, which helped me a lot while studying the book of John. I have a bit of difficult grasping the timeline of the last day, though. I would appreciate elaboration of John 19:14 - some translations state that the time is about noon (I understand that this is midday). Thanks and bless you!

One more thing is that when Jesus said my god my god why you forsaken me, he was praying psalm 22, where there are a description to his crucifixion there, also to lead and start announcing the beginning of the prayer hour because it was the time of the ninth hour,

When Jesus said to John behold your mother, that means she did not have any children other than Jesus. She was always a virgin.

If we don’t have to practice the crucifixion why St. Paul said to crucify the flesh Galatians 5:24?? In same like losing our lives to find it in him Matthew 10:39
