As an amateur artists who gets commissions and sells art from time to time, I heard so many labels today that to me only means that the level of artistic education and skillset in application a person has, then enables said person to label you, and put their subjective spin on your work. Most of the art appreciators I know, just go, ooohhh, pretty painting, how much is that? lol, being new to this level of thinking and exposure to the educated customer, I will let them call my work whatever they want lol, within reason as long as they may buy my work:) I love Cesar's vids and I feel enlightened EVERY time I watch one of his vids. Getting ready to paint and feeling inspired, thanks Cesar!! :)

Thanks for bringing new light to the classical art. I was brought up with the traditional art education in China, but also studied contemporary art in US. Honestly I have been really hesitant to include traditional elements in my artworks seeing how painting, especially classical paintings is such a minority in today's art world, and also regarded as "unoriginal. " (tho I do find completely copying photo itself is very pointless, visually, especially for the viewers' that's why I enjoy seeing ur works that have a contemporary twist more ) Your msg brought deeper understanding to classical art and make me see the traditional art from a new perspective. Thank you! Quite inspiring :)

It's such a pleasure to hear you talk about art. It's getting me to think in new ways, approach things differently.
I'm starting to look at value and color with a new understanding.

When ever we attempt to communicate an experience or an idea to another, we create an abstraction of our original experience or idea. For even if two people should observe or experience the same event, or object, we each have a unique point of perception.

Thanks again Cesar. Your knowledge of the history of art and artistic principles needed to improve as an artist, is helping me to become an artist in my own right. You are the master in which I base my journey to becoming a better painter. Thank you.

Finding interesting and funny how, while speaking of colours at 5:09, colours && lights changing perception of facial colours and expressions. Well-planning location + timing or inadvertent homerun on point, haha.

Loving conceptual 180 starting at 3:02. On this, always wondering if Old Masters only more objectively perceiving same objects as everyone else, but then combining with knowledge\\experience of building up values, colours, etc.

Hey, I've been highly enjoying the vlogs, as well as learning from them too, but I have a suggestion for you; whether you want to share the secret or not. But would you be willing to give us a realistic portrait drawing vlog? Maybe a bit of Nitram charcoal tutorial, talk about the charcoal holders and stuff like that. As a nineteen year old artists at art school in good old Australia, I've been having problems getting the difference between a nice hand drawing, and a good trace, more or less I struggle to capture the complextions and aesthetics of the people I paint. Always ruinging the drawing and never getting around to painting the portrait. Of cause it vaguely looks like them, but I do struggle achieving the 'zen' of making the eye believe it is seeing a picture of say my dog, or my best friend. Or my mum.

Cheers,
And thank you so much, you're a very inspirational hope for bringing modern art back to classical standards of beauty. Fuck conceptualism, if it doesn't look like a tree it aint a tree. Dont just paint a tree, paint a gum tree, and paint a pink, yellow, purple, dusty Australian sunset, with terraced streets of wooden workers cottages, lined with verandas where siloettes of strangers watch the audience from their front decks.
Cheers again.
