Ive had the best luck with Micheline Tires. Ive tried Goodyear, Firestone/Bridgestone, Primewell, and Hankook in the past. Micheline are my favorite so far.

I've had good luck with Cooper tires. The ones for my particular car where made in the US. None of the rampant flats, belt separations, going out of balance and other problems I've had in the past with other major brands of tires.

I had Hankook tires on my old car, on my wife's car and when I saw you in Clarksville recently I visited the Hankook factory, huge factory. 🏭 Toyota uses Hankook as OEM. Good value tire.

Love your videos Scotty. I was raised told to stay away from Dodge, glad to hear a mechanic’s input

The 1969 El Camino probably has as Quadrajet. The lead plugs on the underside of the carburetor under the fuel bowl are leaking. By the next morning there is no gas in the fuel bowl. So it takes a lot of cranking to finally get gas. The go-to fix is to JB weld the cavity these plugs are in. Edelbrock USED to sell replacement Q-Jets. Their Carter style AFBs are great carbs. Simple and easy to adjust. But they just do not have the efficiency nor performance of a Q-Jet. This is because on the Q-Jet the front venturis are very small for fuel economy and the rear venturis are HUGE for great WOT performance. When going from a stock Q-Jet to a Edelbrock AFB, you probably have to buy a different divorced choke, also an adaptor plate to go from the spread bore manifold to the square bore Edelbrock carb. You may consider buying a Edelbrock square bore intake instead of going with an adaptor plate. There are companies that sell Chevy-style Q-Jets new. That would be another consideration.

I will never use Wal-Mart again after they installed the wrong tires. I asked for Goodyear Reliants and they put on Douglas A/T. The Wal-Mart tire center associates are LAZY, RUDE and not-accommodating at all. They also put 2 different size valve stems on my tires. I'm having this fixed because the car looks 'stupid' with 3 valve stems sticking 2" out from the rim.

I have Hankook Kinergy PT on my car. Made in USA. Best tires I've ever used. Quiet and great handling in dry and wet conditions. Lowest price at Wal-Mart but get installed somewhere else. Mavis put mine on. You're welcome.

I fully agree with your assessment of the Toyota Sienna vs Honda Oddesy - my seinna has over 250, 000 KM (roughly 153000 mi) and it's rock solid - a coworker that bought a honday oddesy the same year I bought my van and he had to replace his transmission before 170, 000km !

I always bought Michelins but they are just too expensive for me now. I switched to Cooper tires and have been very satisfied with them.

NYC yellow cab driver here, I got a 2020 Rav 4 and it does about 280 miles a day commuting from PA to NYC and a 12 hour shift there plus commute back, amazing quality. My other car is a KIA and it would fall apart in weeks with this type of heavy use. Nothing beats Toyota. Thank you Scotty for making Yellow cab garages choose Toyota.

I bought an Explorer years ago with Chinese made Hankook tires and they were horrible on snow and ice, even harder rubber compound than Goodyear. I gave them to my dad in FL and he ran them for years. I was tempted to buy a set recently as they were made in Korea, but went with Firestone WinterForce instead. I sold my Toyota Previa Van with 285, 000 miles (rusty), most reliable car I ever owned. Replaced it with a 2003 Odyssey which now is rotted out and has 283, 000 miles and is still running. Original engine and transmission but at 240, 000 miles I put a certain style transmission cooler on it, replaced the external transmission filter (have to remove battery box, dealer doesn't acknowledge it exists) and switched from 5W30 to 10W30 oil at around 200, 000 miles. Both the Odyssey and Previa had a little over 70, 000 miles on them when I bought them. Other Odyssey owners are amazed that mine lasted this long. Transmission started slipping (per code) and throwing code at 240, 000 miles but I changed fluid (2nd time since I owned it) and filter (first time) and added cooler. I worried it might slip more after fluid change, and I prayed it would last until I moved and was in better financial situation. That was years ago, and I have since got a new car but I use it as a work truck and it doesn't slip or throw transmission code even on 3 hour trips! Maybe it was the prayer?

Hey Scotty, I've got an '05 Mercedes C240 4-Matic and I've got to say it's been the best and cheapest car to run I've ever had. I know they can be trouble, but the c240's are mostly nuts and bolts and parts are reasonable. If you get something simple, it'll likely be less trouble. Cheers!

The first thing my dad told me when I got my drivers license in 1985 was never buy a Chrysler /Dodge product. I’ve always followed that advice

I have had good luck with Toyo tires over the years. The last set I bought were made in Malaysia. So far I have had good luck with them.

I remember seeing a report on Hankook tires from a respected consumer group maybe two years ago. Failed on every aspect and received a do not buy.
