You're awesome, Derek. Great words of wisdom. When we spoke, I totally appreciated that you "got" it, as I do when I speak with any VIP. I can't blame the sighted people for not getting it because they can't. And that's ok!

Loved this! I was born blind and need this reminder everyday... it's ok that sighted people don't understand blindness.

It is understandable for sighted people to not get it, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not frustrating sometimes. Since I started my YouTube channel my friends and family have been telling me how much my videos have helped them understand me. So I hope that it continues to enhance their understanding, but I know they will never get it 100%. I don’t really know any visually impaired people, but watching other blind YouTubers that I can relate to has really helped me feel like I’m not alone

You totally right. Of course, no one understands what it's like to be anyone Else, you can only walk in their shoes to certain extent.

i have visual impairment. One of the frustrating questions I get from sights people is, "Are your eyes better now?" This is despite me previously telling them that my condition is irreversible and progressive. I sometimes feel tired of hanging out with these people who either don't get it or choose not to believe you.

2 funny things I want to share.
1. I am 53 and have never met another visually impaired person. I must not be going to the right places.
2. Talk about not getting visited my medical doctor yesterday and was telling him I was legally blind and after his jaw dropping and giving me a puzzled look. He said " so you can't see?"....Da legally blind not totally blind. Then he asked "How do you answered " I am a bad dude". I wasn't mad just surprised at his lack of knowledge.

Oh well, just thought I would share.
