Nintendo Switch hands on: An hour with the new console

So here we are gawping at an all-new Nintendo, that, while just as innovative (and arguably challenging) in its design as its predecessor, is being positioned as a far more mainstream device, one that Nintendo expects you to take with you practically everywhere.

But will you want to? Jon Porter managed to grab over an hour with the new Nintendo Switch to see if Mario and co, in all their portable HD goodness, can convince you to do so.

Congrats for the competent show of the switch and switch pro pad, sadly many that had contact with the unit don't talked neither showed the digital triggers etc.Thats some nice details and important to us players.Nice job.

It's a good portable no doubt. It all comes down to the games available. It's going to live or die by first and third party support. No doubt Nintendo will release great games but the 3rd party is still uncertain at this point

Great video! Quick question though: how do the SL and SR shoulder buttons feel on the wrist strap accessory? One of the games they've advertised is a new version of Street Fighter 2, which has a 6 button control scheme, so you'll NEED to press those buttons in a precise, well timed manner. There's no way you're hitting those little buttons without the accessory, so I'm worried that the buttons that exist to press other buttons won't feel responsive enough. Granted, veterans of the game are immediately deposed against using an analog stick, but the novelty of setting up a portable console and playing a match with someone is something I'd be interested in. Thank you!
