I love how this show actually shows real problems families have. There are mothers and fathers with many issues. Rosanne and the Conners show real life issues!

Let's just remember a couple things about Jackie. First, _she_ has a history with alcohol abuse. Second, she _also_ has a history in law enforcement.
So as a former alcoholic (if there really _is_ such a thing), she knows how to recognize when someone _else_ has a problem. She knows how to anticipate when someone is going to do things like go looking for car keys (their own or someone else's) and get to them beforehand.
And as a former cop, when a little tough love is called for, she can provide it.

Seriously .. who ever thought that Becky would end up becoming a hot mess and Darlene the responsible one!? The Becky story line is great this season and hopefully the actress who plays Becky will hopefully receive a well deserved nomination next year.
