I love how PHP doesn't have a new framework every 5 minutes like JS, we need stability in our lives!

I have never met a web application user that cared or knew what any of it was programmed in.

The good thing with Laravel is that you don't have to install a lot of 3rd third-party packages to manage simple things like migrations, ORM, authentication, etc.
Unlike in JS where you have to know which package to install to start the develoment

Since you said your main motivator for this video was to pay it forward in support of Laravel, then, I think you absolutely should make that Next.js comparison follow up video. Oh, and I’d also love it! Just to learn about your decision process that led to Laravel. Lastly, I agree, Josh does have a mad chill channel.

thank you so much for making this video! I love how community-back php/lavavel is compared to Angular. And their documentation is AMAZING!

btw, laravel can be a microservice application. from where i work. we use laravel as our API and react as the front end. they're both stand alone and live on different servers.

Man, Ya'll used to shit on me from bringing up PHP and Laravel. I was building APIs, two saas products that never made it to market, and lastly my personal portfolio was using OctoberCMS which was in Laravel... I was way ahead of my time back in 2017 then and felt I couldn't say PHP amongst the team because of the negative reactions. I'm glad your onboard, Laravel is amazing. I've been a member of Laracast since 2015 and been following Taylor Otwell, and Jeffrey Way forever since the days of Envato Tuts+.. 2013.. hahaa.. I'm getting old 🤣

I learned laravel 2yrs ago and its the best decision I took.

NextJes is good and I love the vue ecosystem but laravel helped my recover my mental helth.

Its great to be able to be able to focus on the problem isntead of the problems that the tools create with the never ending chaoes of the Js world.

I'm using Laravel for 12 yrs now, there's nothing even close to it when it comes to building robust, high quality, well supported, well documented, enterprise level applications.

I would like to see a video about your decisions switching from NestJS (NextJS aswell) I just got into a PHP project using Laravel and I'm used to work mainly with Node.

I've recently started paying attention to Laravel and really like it. I've written Node.js/Express (MVC) before, also Svelte/SvelteKit, but I don't like the custom adapters part (in cases I don't want to use cloud platforms). At this point my favorite stack is Laravel, Inertia and Svelte.

YES! this gives me more confidence on continuing my Laravel journey!! 🤙

My advice for anyone starting Laravel, don't waste your time with inertia, use jetstream or breeze only for auth.

I left web dev for apple/iphone dev because I was tired of the fragmentation of the JS landscape and cognitive load required to juggle all the tech. Now, I’m back to web dev for side projects and I’m going with Laravel.
