I got fitted in March and came away with the regular Mavrik irons, smaller blade and less offset than the Max and the feel is great. They really shine on miss hits, so much better than anything else I tried

Wilson D7 Irons!!

Also Titleist T300? Although not sure about them.. The D7's are absolute beasts! Especially for the price!

I’ve got the Cleveland HB3, they are not the prettiest club to look at but they are forgiving.. great review and always enjoy seeing new mid to high handicap irons.

I highly recommend the wilson staff d7 line of irons. I have a set only thing I switched on them is going to winn oversize grips. My favorite

I bought the Ping G710 irons in March this year- best iron set I’ve ever owned. My shots go just as long as my old iron set (Callaway), but in addition to being more forgiving, they go much higher with more spin, and hold greens much better. James R is too harsh on the sound. These G710 irons sound just fine; perhaps slightly higher pitched compared to a typical cavity backed iron, but you aren’t even aware of any sound difference while you play outdoors.

Love my custom fitted ping G710s. Not just for high and mid handicaps. Working my way down to scratch with these, currently a 2 hdcp and love the look, feel and forgiveness and the Arcoss caddie sensors that come with them are a game changer!

I understand it marketing, but just put a 6 on the 7iron because that's what it is. It would also eliminate the 3 wedges they give you. Keep up the great work James!

I have the Mizuno 921s and absolutely love them. My last set was a blended 919 HM / HMP. with the 921s decided to stick with the HM throughout

I would love to see more of this type of video and see the Cleveland HB Turbo irons included in the comparison

I've tested all of them too, together with different shafts. My result? Well, nothing beats a Mizuno for feel, distance and accuracy.

I’ve been only golfing for one season and I’ve been using second hand clubs I got from my cousin so I had no idea what to look for when I decided to buy my own clubs. This video helped a lot!

tested these all recently - ended up with the Mizuno jpx921 with upgraded steel fiber stiff shaft due to my swing speed- love them the distance the sound and the buttery feel for me - outstanding and the fact Mizuno upgrade shaft no extra cost !!

Can agree, the ping performance is as mentioned... but felt terrible in the hands when hitting. Can confirm my top two after a fitting was maverik and jpx.

Most forgiving has to be the Cleveland launcher line purchased the hb launchers this to replace titleist 716 ap1. Although not much on looks took just one session on range to used to the hybrid like look on irons . So easy to hit so forgiving and have gone on to play best golf truly just makes the game easier

I got fitted this year for irons, and the Taylormade Sim Max were the best for me. Gained in almost every category. Love these clubs, but getting lessons to help consistency of strike. Nice to see them in your top 5. They're #1 for me!

Great video James I though the Wilson D7 would have had a mention in there

Thanks for the review James, always helpful. I wonder how many low handicappers would benefit from putting their snobbery away and playing with clubs that go straight and consistent.
