Root Cause of Bi-Polar Heat Waves, Australian & BC Flooding: Mangled Jet Stream Atmospheric Rivers

In this extensive video I teach you, in everyday language, about how our mangled jet streams recently and simultaneously drove atmospheric rivers to the high latitudes of both the Arctic and Antarctic, causing enormously high, record breaking heat waves.

I explain in detail how the exact same atmospheric river phenomena resulting from mangled jet streams caused record rainfalls, flooding, and landslides in the Canadian province of British Columbia last year, and more recent record flooding in Australia, with the Brisbane region being bombarded with a “rain bomb” from an atmospheric river carrying 16x the estimated water volume in Sydney Harbour (for non Australian viewers, check out the size of Sydney Harbour on Google Earth:).

As we get more frequent and powerful atmospheric rivers moving to higher latitude regions, it is obvious that the poles will be exposed to more and more moisture laden rivers about 1 to 3 km above the surface. Thus, it is obvious and fully expected that glacial ice melt on Greenland, West Antarctica, and even on East Antarctica will be much larger than any glacial experts think, or any models predict. I still stand behind my expectations for the possibility of 7 meters of global sea level rise by 2070. Also, the sea ice at both poles will be decimated, and extreme weather events around the globe will continue to increase in frequency, severity, and duration, and occur in regions they never did before.

Welcome to the consequences of abrupt climate system change, in our climate casino as we experience exponentially increasing mayhem.

On another note, if you have had any experience training puppies, I desperately seek advice, especially on crate training which I am told is a vital component (not working for us).

Sincerely,
Paul

I watch every video you do. I don't always leave a comment because I'm either busy or listening with the headset on doing other things but I really appreciate the hard work you put into these. Thanks Paul.

Thank you Paul for equipping us with the tools we need to advocate for our planet.

Thanks Paul, good report. All the best to you, Shackleton, and Newton.

Thank you for correcting main stream media statements, as in the actual warming of the Arctic. “We’re heading rapidly to an Arctic without any sea ice, for sure. We’ve basically lit rocket fuel underneath the climate and we’re all going to be suffering the consequences.” It’s such bad news, but I appreciate hearing the truth about the climate rather than lies meant to keep us complacent and comfortable. Thank you so much!
Regarding dog training, I am useless, and our dogs [both rescues] are training-free, despite any and all efforts. Loving your dog beats all the rules. I can see how you love the new pupster. Lucky Newton.

As a New Zealander, I was hyped by an image of Antarctica in the thumbnail. I love when you do videos set in the Southern Hemisphere. Awesome work!

Just as you predicted. Atmospheric rivers migrating towards the poles. 😱

On puppies - our family raised a beautiful Alaskan Malamute & she is now fourteen. She understands herself as human and lives as a member of our family pack. Any mistakes we made by not understanding her youthful fear or over reacting to her puppy enthusiasm are recognized. We communicate with her emphasizing limited language, rewards, encouragement and yes - pack howls - and eyes always eyes. Honour your puppies true nature, you won’t be disappointed.

Humans are so destructive.
We are destroying the very air, land and water we all need to survive.

They get used to the crate eventually. My "pup" is 2.5 years old now. He sleeps in the crate every night. I put my puppy's crate behind a closed door when he was young (I got him at 3 months old) so I could not hear him cry at night. He only "cries" now (at 2.5 years old) if he thinks there are "critters" in the yard so he cries to be in the yard and chase "critters" (at 2am). I moved his crate back where I can't hear him cry and he may smell critters less. One night as an experiment, I tried to let him sleep on the couch or in my bed. He hated it and paced until I put him in the crate.

hey paul, do you have any further information on the gigantic Cavity anomaly in Antarctica? i just found it fascinating that you could fly a big plane under the ice and have not heard any further information about it.
seems like that is a big deal and reminiscent of journey to the center of the Earth stories. There are plenty of Stories of our own indigenous peoples travelling under the ice to collect sea foods and was just wondering about the Cavity, ...i call it "the bubble'. How is it even possible to support such a huge ice roof?
Thanks for all the work you give us !@!!

The new longer video format is not so great, focusing is more difficult above, say 20mn. okay it is better without interruptions, but for me it sometimes require a pause. The good thing is that youtube keeps track of where i left off and I can restart even on another device. I would try and do it myself, buy I have no "climate scientist credentials" It would be great to have a video on a white board with the climate science basics : Understanding gravity (atmosphere thicker equator than poles) Convection, Coriolis effect, effect of mountains vs sea on wind, and the jet streams and the wall of cold that we have lost that enable all those atmospheric rivers, heat and cold waves to move north/south instead of west to east, waviness and sluggishness of the weakened jet streams. This would be a staple video to refer to all the time to avoid too much repetitions. Most of the time a simple white board drawing is much better to understand how all this works. Maybe two schemes for each : desirable holocene mode, and broken anthropocene mode.

Dear Paul -
As one who has lived all my 63 years with four-legged canine and/or feline family members - Love and Respect (as with two-leggeds) solves all !!!

I urge you to put your considerable intellect and independent reasoning - to building a loving lifelong relationship with your new four-legged son. Newton is clearly already happily attached to you and trusts you - if your little boy is made unhappy by a crate - I would take his word for it !!!

We humans, as you brilliantly highlight, want to "prove" the righteousness of "convenience." Look where this has gotten us...

If your worried about Newton chewing excessively - I heartily recommend daily walks and the "Kong" brand of toys - real rubber and virtually indestructible.

Peace and Love to you and Newton
