Her⁣

Written by Poppy⁣⁣
Produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen ⁣⁣
Mixed by Darrell Thorp⁣⁣⁣⁣
Directed by Chris Ullens
Performed by Ralph Alexander, Ted Gowans, Matt McJunkins, Nick Perez

Give her a face
Give her a name
That isn' t hers
Then make her yours
Say she's adored
Call her a whore
Then pick her up
Throw her on the floor

I'm getting to know her
And all of her anger
You won’t recognize her
If you encountered
I'm getting to know her
And all of her anger
Picked herself up
Put her back together

Give her a taste
Take it away
Under your thumb
Tell her to stay
Don't say a word
Don't disobey
When she woke up
She ran away

Run your mouth to keep her scared
You expected her to care
But when her mind made up
You were illfully prepared
Have you observed
And what have you learned
The girl that you knew
Will never be yours

the fact she wrote this in 2019 when she finally broke out of the relationship she was stuck in is so powerful. We are ALL so proud of her

This is telling me that we're in need of more stop motion horror movies with rock soundtracks

Love the 90's alt rock and grunge sound to this one. Excellent.

Honestly this song has multiple meanings to me. The first sounds like she is slowly finding herself after a breakup, and the other sounds like its a jab at the pop industry as a whole with the video just cranking out those robots and disposing of them when the money stops flowing in from them.

Poppy, I finally finished your comic last night and listening to this song now, ugh- the feels. I'm sorry what you went through. Your story was so eloquent and well written. So happy to see that you are healing through your art. Keep healing and keep having so much fun being yourself!

This was so 1995 MTV. You could totally put this on 120 Minutes

This song is amazing! I'm really happy to finally hear Poppy on her own —no toxic collaborators now— and still keep everything I love about her music and concept intact.

So the villain was making robotic blonde musician puppets and then just discarding them on a whim and making new identical ones?

Sounds a bit familiar.

Waiiit because poppy is SPOILING the girlies this year!!! We had an album + deluxe last year, now we’ve had Fear Of Dying, the EAT EP and now another single? Like I adore her.
