I'm convinced that when Veronica clicks her keyboard after she's asked if she has a moment that she is starting a recording of some sort

Boss: "No one else complained."
Veronika: "Perhaps I should speak to them."

I worked a decade as a full time bookkeeper and also did HR. When I went to a major company and work union, My bosses were not ready for me at all. I knew the laws inside and out. Once while working 3 shift I did not get my paycheck when I should have. Knowing the laws and the company policies and since my new boss did this to me for the third time I did not clock out. I did stop working and just sat in the department. The boss noticed this after 4 hours (he was goofing off) He had a shit fit and started yelling at me telling me to go home and I would get my check the next day. I laughed at him and pulled up the company policy on third shift paycheck and when they were due to the employee and also the options the employee had to get their check. I got 8 hours of overtime and he got yelled at by his boss. If you work for a living it is very important to know state and federal labor laws and any company policies. This changed how 3 shift employees got their paychecks in my classification no more day late checks and if it was late everyone knew to stay until the boss got off his ass and got your check. The boss was gone within months of this.

Sadly, the "nuisance" is always the person who stands up for themself and doesn't allow them roll right over her. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. They do not reward you they take advantage of you!
I'm 66 abd spent years giving my time and energy making other people money on empty promises that I would see the fruit of my blood, sweat, and tears and never did. But mediocrity from others was always rewarded because they played the corporate game - something I was never good at. But I was good at my job so they just gave me more and more.
Veronika is my hero.

I love how that’s literally illegal and they still will try to justify it

I’m sick of employers saying “ *no more overtime pay* “ then literally sneaking in meetings that put us into overtime‼️💥💪🏽

She in fact did NOT leave early, she left after her 8. Period. Unless they paid everyone overtime then that should have been stipulated, otherwise her job is for 8.

You're right and I completely understand. Please be advised I will be 30 minutes late to all future meetings scheduled during my personal time.

Bravo Veronika!! I have integrity, gave 100% and kept detailed notes for my protection because of the crazy shanagens of a job. The Lord gave me boldness and the strength I needed. Once I started respectfully standing up for myself, creating boundaries and balance, my stress and peace returned to my life.🎉
I have now moved on. Corporate America is in my rear view window!! Hallelujah!💯 ❤🎉

I love these videos. It reminds me how smart I was to become an independent contractor. I'm paid for the work not for my time. I come and go as I please. If I want to, I can build friendships with co-workers (and I have some that exists outside of the workplace) but if I don't like my co-workers, I'm not forced to socialize with them or even get along with them. I don't have bosses or supervisors except one: me. The downside is that you can't be risk adverse if you want to be on your own. You have to go hunt down work. Also, even though you're your own boss, sometimes we can find out that we are not great bosses or sometimes, we're terrible employees. I know I'm a sucky employee. I'm always wasting time (like commenting on Youtube videos instead of finishing my project). I always wait till the last minute. I completely ignore my own directives and office rules (such as no snacking!).

Those few keystrokes at the start, is likely Veronica launching some recording software.

“Can I get this in writing please” would’ve been my first response.

I love when they bring up “everyone else” I don’t care what everyone else did, not everyone cares about their time or understands that if it’s work related and not specifically a volunteer event you must be paid. Although my route is usually different than Veronica’s, I usually just make them pay me overtime for the meeting.
