Madden got so complicated. I just bought the game after a 10 year break. I'm still pretty good surprisingly. I actually managed to win an ultimate team game. Sadly it seem everyone that's been playing for the time I took off know a bunch of goto plays and will only run the same 5-6 plays a game. That's not football. The only advantage I have is I play so unconventional it's throwing people off. I appreciate your tips video for reasons like this.

Loving the video so far! Haven’t finished it just yet, I just wanted to add on a little for Tip 16, if you play franchise you can go into your coaching tab and select “Formation Subs” and go to all your formations and add a safety to any of the formations you want to use them in. It’s also helpful if you want to split carries between RBs. Only a tip for Franchise, but it helps save time in game.

Eric doesn’t do a ton of tip videos but when he does it’s so good and always helpful every year! I have never tried a play or concept from this guy that wasn’t spot on.

Great video, been playing Madden on and off for 5 or 6 years and never realised how much you could actually do on it with audibles etc too.

Something else add is the player speed threshold scale, when me and some relatives have Madden tournaments we turn that down so you can feel difference between fast and slow players while playing (example: a 88 speed CB won't be keeping up with a 99 speed tyrek hill on go route or things in that nature)

As a noob in Madden...this for sure helped me out.
Specifically
- Beating Man coverage and beating Zone
- Dont hit the sprint button on returns and with RBS
- SHADING DEFENSE!! (Can/Should I use this everytime im playing defense? Or is it just on Cover 3?)

How do I know what defense formation I should come out in? I know they tell you the thing on the bottom how many WR, TE, and RBs are on the field...but idk what I should be choosing

I use Tennessee's offense for my Steelers franchise. Its pretty darn solid and the team is similar to the Titans

The not sprinting behind the line helps a bunch never thought to use it on kickoffs as well

Has anyone tried out the Multiple D Defensive playbook? I’ve been using it lately and I’ve been liking it a lot. It’s got Nickel 3-3, 3-3 Cub, and Nickel Over. It has a good mix of 3-4 and 4-3 plays/formations. And it has a pretty unique Formation in it called 5-2, which I’ve found to be good for both pass and run defending, I believe the only other playbooks it is in is the Jets and 49ers.

I’m from the UK, no knowledge on American football and no idea how it works. Madden 23 is the first madden I’ve ever bought and I’m hooked.
