It's a 50/50 in most of these situations. Cover the passing lane, he is through on goal. Going for the ball carrier, risking the pass to non marked player.

All you need is good connection all pro players have less that 15 connection.
Never seen a pro with connection like 30 ms which most players play

Or you can just press R1 twice, and 2 CPU defenders will tightly mark his two best options for a pass, while you concentrate on closing him down.

Not many people use that in the game.

Also use gk rush or gk cross intercept or gk go in the middle of the box if you definitely know he will pass to the central striker

I knew what I wanted to do in that situation I just never know how to make the player do it

use the right stick and move your keeper out a tad bit so he can make the extra jump, good players will watch for this though and focus on near post, that’s where you gotta jockey and position yourself right

Just use team pressure during these situations inorder to tackle that winger's every passing possibilities(your team members will try to cover every other opponents)by tapping RB and holding it(RB)

Just double tap R1, RB. Check that the light green cursor is above your other defender, double tap again, if you need to switch to another defender. That's how I stop conceding from wing play... I play in elite. YNWA ❤
