Join guitarist Molly Miller for an exclusive guitar lesson as she teaches you how to play the solo riff from Jason Mraz's hit song “Might As Well Dance.” In this clip from our Riff Lords episode on GTV, Molly stops by to break down the unforgettable riff that comes in around 1:55—a catchy, funky, bluesy, and country-tinged riff that REALLY transforms the song and helps an already great tune become EVEN more catchy so it's stuck in your head!

In this quick clip, Molly shows you how to play (what she and Jason call) a "country funk" riff, built around a G7 chord, showing you all the subtle nuances and timing needed to play it like the record. She also shares how she developed the riff, making it easy for you to follow along and gives you the timing techniques so you can get it exactly right. With a little practice, you'll be playing it like a pro in no time.

Eagle-eyed viewers out there will note that throughout the lesson, Molly uses a stunning Gibson Les Paul but it sounds incredible on ANY guitar. This guitar lesson is perfect for anyone looking to improve their skills, learn a cool Jason Mraz song and have fun while doing it!
