Molly Miller is probably one of the top guitarists today. She is such a great and versatile player, can't emphasize more. I feel she is a bit underrated though, but obviously she taught a lot of people already.

Bob, you are by far one of the BEST interviewers of musicians on YouTube! Your knowledge base is so deep, that you draw from effortlessly and humbly, that you automatically make the artist feel comfortable enough to expound on their innermost thoughts and feelings! Thanks for posting these insightful interviews!

I love this shell, channel, and everything you guys do! My passion in life is jazz guitar, especially fingerstyle jazz and bebop jazz. I love the way you are mixing in contemporary players and holding true to the rich history we have with players in the past

I bought this book called Chord Chemistry about 50 years
Ago that has everything you need to be a well rounded
Guitarist but I just didn’t dig into it enough. Thank you
For the interview. Amen

She just described what makes trio playing so special, and what separates the good ones from the greats: The interaction. From The Poll Winners to the Bill Evans Trio to the Ornette Coleman Trio, to Cream, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, ELP, Rush, to the Julian Lage Trio, and yes, the Molly Miller Trio; listening to their partners and interacting with each other comes shining through.

I love Molly’s playing. Instantly recogniseable, entertaining and understated harmonic and rhythmic complexity, a little like Julian Lage in having the confidence to play very familiar sounds but mould them into something both fun and exploratory.

The mysterious young lady sounds like one of us, who would of thought. Not at all the the celestial exotic spiritual sister i envisioned was going to abduct my soul while i slept. Listening to her music now will just be fun. If she comes to Texas hopefully I'll get to catch her show. Happy new year to all.

That time discussion makes me think of a piece of advice I got somewhere… “Play ahead of the chords and behind the beat”.

Listening to this talented person play, she’s like watching a dancer, who know how you can create a whole extra layer of texture, by knowing when to create a lovely little pause or hold on a note that adds something so perfect and sexy and even a little flirtatious that makes the song hers, somehow.
