Spinning wool of uncertain heritage on my Louët S17.

Hi there. I’m thinking of buying the S 17 from the Woolery. Are used to own an S 15 about 15 years ago. I’m recovering from back surgery and cannot sit up straight for longer than about 10 minutes. But I can recline and it’s nice to see you reclining to know that I can spend that way. I also like that your left hand doesn’t have to follow the whole yarn down you couldn’t let it go. And the ruler on the front is a nice touch! Thank you

Omg i am sooo very happy to have found you! I just received my Louet S17 wheel a week ago! I have wanted one for years. I am so afraid i won't be able to do it i didn't even take it out of the box! My husband said he's going to throw it at me if i wait too much longer lol. I hear that it takes the fiber in fast and you can ONLY spin thick yarn on it. I don't even know how to put the fiber ( leader yarn) through all the hooks! My husband made me three drop spindles last year and I absolutely loved it I finally have the wheel and I'm afraid to even try. It's so great watching you. You make it look so easy😊

So, I've been led to believe that you can't spin particularly thin yarn on a Louet bc of the tension mechanism. Looks like it's no problem! ;)

I am having trouble maintaining a consistent spin of yarn, and my wheel is squeaky. What do I do to lube up the squeaking parts? I love my wheel. I have the same wheel as you do.
