ive made a couple of these, the easiest way is to literally film the thing ur want and speed it up in post
if ur using tape connect it to your computer and make sure the video is being saved onto a hard drive and keep the thing charged
loooks WAYYY more pro
this way he is describing is the way they make stop motion animations u could do that to but thats if you want that kind of style, time lapse should be made with full video sped up

You can make a time lapse on any digital camera that has a remote control ability. It's very, very, very easy. You need a PC with windows movie maker and windows 7 is best at it. I have many time lapse videos and an instruction video on my channel.

On Windows you can use VideoMach, instead of IrfanView and QuickTime Pro.

If you want to record a flower as in the in the beginning, be my guest. instead of taking a photo at a diffrent time a day (maybe 3-7 pictures a day) in a week.

A video takes a hell lot of space

@Boy22100 do the math. if you play it back at 24 frames per second, take 24 x 60.

5 hours of constant shooting/filming will leave ALOT of raw footage that will take alot of space. So the easier way is to do it like this.

@algancon do you know of a program i can use to do this? that supports .MOV i want to use clips not picstures

@yujiosHERO Pictures and video its not that different. a normal video have 24 frames per second, and if you shoot that many pictures with a digital camera and put it together. If you edit it good enough u cant even see a difference. At last. Your camera uses less battery on taking pictures than recording a movie for, lets say 5 hours.

This is depressingly convoluted. As has been pointed out, there are far easier ways of doing time-lapse with any camera/camcorder. All you really need is a tripod, and video software.
