Useful, thanks. The other articles covering this were very vague, something like -- if you are a Virgo who loves walks along the beach get the L series; if you love heavy metal get the E series. No explanations.

You can actually run up to 2 external monitors on the E series with a Thunderbolt USB-C dock that supports USB PowerDelivery pass through, FYI!

My e530 has ran for years without a hitch and is still fast. Upgraded to the hills of course.

From my experience the e series docking connector is kinda iffy. Thats a lot of use on the one type c connector over the unit's life. If you can afford it, buy a T series or a X1 series. Those are going to hold up the best.

Nice video, Lenovo made so many different models that I have lost track of them.

I think the X and the P series also needs to be mentioned. I suppose the X series are the compact version of the T series with smaller screens (13”) and like the T series they’re also ‘built like a tank’ while maintaining compatibility with docking stations. The P series must be the large screen ones (idk for sure).. oh and there’s the W series, I think W is for “Workstation” and they have dedicated graphics card, large screens and full keyboard set with numerical keypad, the ones to run CAD and Engineering software, also having support for docking stations and able to run on multiple monitors as well.

Your opinion about what to choose  between:
- ThinkPad L14 Gen3 FullHD i7-1255U-12thGen 16GB SSD512
- ThinkPad E14 Gen4 i7-1255U 16GB SSD512
- Does the Intel i7 run hot?

i did not know the L series did not have the spill channels in it. oh well, i really needed a 15" screen and the L series was the only one that had the good CPU i wanted. i wish your video was louder as it was hard to see. this was a really good comparison between the thinkpad models. thanks for making it.

Edit: had the laptop for a few months. This L series has very quiet speakers. It's hard to play a video and hear it over my desk fan. I have to plug in headset and listen to things. Disappointed. Otherwise good and cheap.
