Alright maybe I can help for the kinda breakcore part! I made a song called Interplanetary Menace and made a breakcore part in it and at first it sounded like crap (because I was composing poorly. The mixing was good as my friend has no trouble with that and he fixed it for me)
But what helped me was making ONLY the drums, then adding basic things for harmony (bass, high pitched whistle and pluck iirc) and then EQing everything to... give more place to the drums that I OTTed a bit.
Maybe that'll help!
