7:17 "You shouldn't be using an experimental vehicle for paying passengers who aren't themselves deep ocean engineers." This is the crux of the issue.

So refreshing to hear someone intelligent stick to facts

Rational, objective, empathetic, truthful, and intelligent. Why are these qualities so hard to find anymore? James Cameron is one of a kind, I’m glad he’s speaking on this subject.

I never realized the extent of James Cameron’s intelligence because you mostly only hear and read about his directing accomplishments. Very impressed. I love his straightforward explanation of what happened.

James is absolutely right . Im in aerospace industry and fatigue in pressure hulls is absolutely real . Every one has a limited number of cycles of expansion and contraction whether in the air or under water . Very surprising the main construction was composite

I learned more about the sub from James than any of the other experts

That 19 year old kid's future was stolen by negligence. Such a shame.

Thank you, James Cameron for telling it like it is. Straight up facts. Mad respect. I feel so awful for those families that lost their loved one. Especially, the 19 year old who can no longer live out a full life due to negligence and greed. He only went for his father, his Mother was meant to go originally. There’s an interview with her and it’s heartbreaking. A loving family.

Mr. Cameron speaks so eloquently and well-versed about this tragedy. It was senseless. 💔

Honestly don't think the CEO would listen. He had been repeatedly warned by safety engineer and others in the company and the wider community. He doesn't want to listen to anyone. That being said James Cameron is the most knowledgeable and experienced so carries considerable respect and influence.

I learned more here in 7 minutes than I did over three days watching news updates 😂. Thanks Mr Cameron

His ability to talk at length while being engaging and precise is really quite amazing to listen to.

Stockton Rush wouldn’t have listened to anyone. He was arrogant, and determined to do it his way. He even ignored experts who told him it wasn’t safe. It was nobody else’s fault or responsibility.

According to Jay Bloom, a Las Vegas financier who was invited WITH HIS SON to go on the sub and was even offered a reduced price, Stockton Rush said: “While there's obviously risk – it's way safer than flying in a helicopter or even scuba diving".
Jay Bloom: 'He was absolutely convinced that it was safer than crossing the street. I am sure he really believed what he was saying. But he was very wrong'.

That to me sounds so misleading. He probably told Mr Dawood and his son the same.

I just love him at this moment when he speaks from the bottom of his heart.

I often forget that James isn't just the director of Titanic, but also a subject matter expert in deep sea diving

This whole situation has made Cameron angry. This is a guy who takes this game seriously
