It's been a week since I bought MG4. Had it for 9 days now and did nearly 1k miles. So far I really like it and it's for sure the best value for money EV on the market. However there are few things that could be better. First one is the efficiency. I was getting around 4 miles to Kw on my MG5 which I part exchanged. Here on MG4 it's more like 3.3 which is pretty bad I have to admit. I have been driving EV'S for over 6 years now and test driven several other electric vehicles and this is definitely the least efficient car.
I wish I could use the app to set the time for the climate control. Hopefully this is something that will be available after some software updates.
The lack of the rear screen wiper is a bit annoying I have to say. But overall I'm happy with my choice 😉
Will be definitely doing my own owner experience review soon ☺️
Great video Miles. Thank you for sharing your thoughts

The longer ranges allow people in a household or apartment complex to share charging points. Instead of having to charge every 2 or 3 days, they only need to charge once a week so it's more practical.

It's good you chose Whitby to visit in your electric car. Whitby is a rapid charger desert along with that surrounding North Yorkshire area and hardly any fast chargers either, making the use of electric cars difficult for anybody wishing to go there.

Great stuff. Almost universally glowing reviews for this car has me very interested, so good real world range tests are all I really need now. No great shock it was well below the WLTP, but a solid 200 miles or more is certainly good enough.

Nice one Miles, good all round hatch. I like the 'long drive out' type of review, really shows what the car would behave like in real world trips. Keep up the good work👍🚗🔌

You are the first one who mentioned that there's no roof rack option on MG4. Thanks a lot for that because it's a deal breaker for me.

Great review! Excellent presenter (good soh as well). Fantastic scenery (love the drone shots of the ruined
Is the display resolution good? The MG ZS EV screen res isn't great.

We have ordered ours and can't wait. As for mileage, obviously it's down to weather conditions. How much does the heater affect range. Our ZS ev loses 20 miles as soon as the heater is turned on. Which is very often when my wife drives.
Thanks Miles but ours will be grey!

I often wonder how many times the average person goes 200+ miles? I live in North County, which is North of San Diego CA. 45 miles to San Diego, 20-30 miles to the coast, 70-80 miles to my sisters houses up north and 50 miles to the mountains. Most times you should be able to recharge at your destination (hopefully). It is 100 miles to Los Angeles, but maybe go once a year. Any distance further than that I fly (As next places of interest are San Francisco, Las Vegas or Texas). MG4 nailed it as far as I'm concerned for distance, don't see the need for 300+mile EVs for most people.

Nicely done. I've ordered this exact specification and picking it up in a week's time. Test drive was superb!!

Love the comment on the green stripes on your top making you look slimmer Miles. 🤣

Really like the MG4, affordable EV at last! Very disappointed with the range of colours available though. I have seen the Mulan, as it is called in China has some very nice metallic colours, but not for UK it seems!

had mine for about 4 weeks now and no regrets, the same as shown and drives lovely, no issues with charging bar with BP and got what I wanted from it all. Charged today on octopus Agile for 8-10p/kwh ... what more do we want ?

Great content and very relevant information, nicely put together. But… please, please work on the “erm’s”and “er’s” they detract greatly from what is a nicely put together program. Keep up the good work.👍

Thanks for this honest review - 220 miles real world range sounds about right. Am I correct that even on this high spec Trophy LR model there is no sat nav and we are to use Apple Car Play or Android Auto? This is weird if true as the MG5 estate facelift 2023 model has all its display and screen updated and includes sat nav. No rear wiper, no rear cup holders and that fog light control not on the stalk are silly omissions as is lack of rain sensing wipers. Otherwise, I can testify its fast and hot-hatch in feel. Boot is ok and rear seats fold down 40/60. Boot lip is zero with space under the boot floor for cable storage - neat and practical. First few MG4 come with a type 2 cable, but after that its a free granny cable only - another silly economy. Price? Creeping up for the Trophy .. but its still good value if no longer a bargain. To end on a +ve we get 7 years warranty. Have a quiet word with your camera bod to show us the detail when you talk about it! Thanks.

Very good video, but can I ask why there is no central rear headrest for a passenger? Thank you

MG4 is just a bit too small for us as we have a dog that suffers anxiety when travelling.

Can't wait to see what elese SAIC MG will offer on this new platform 🙂

Very interesting review and pleased that even though you sell them you did mention a few of the less appealing features; gave the review more credibility. Does it really not have auto wipers? Surprising these days. How’s the audio system. Do live a good radio 😀
