Walking up to a clean house is à game changer. Opens up your day to do other things.

My husband is a clutter junkie!! Hellllp! I've put baskets everywhere for his stuff, however, in a matter of days, they're overflowing. Good thing I love him!

I really liked that you said not to settle for Goodwill items if it's not what you really want and to save a little more to get exactly what would make you happy!

That bunny soap is so cute! If I had it I would never use it. 😂

I have friends who have an extensive and valuable art collection — etchings, lithographs, pottery, regional artists, etc. Each piece is attractive, yes, but as a collection I find it overwhelming. Every furniture piece has art centered over it. Every corner has art hung in it. Every surface has several things on it. So much art that I don’t really see and appreciate any of it. So I really appreciate your recommendation to leave some (many?) walls and surfaces bare.

One thing I realised is that even if you're an avid reader, you don't need to keep and display every single book you've ever read. A few years ago I stopped buying physical books as it became cheaper and easier to store e-books and audio books. I went through my collection and donated most of my books, only keeping the ones that I knew I would return to again and again. I no longer use books as decor and I don't feel like I'm somehow lacking credibility because people can't see all the books I've read.

I’m loving having clear walls now and empty counter space.

Anything that reduces the amount of cleaning for me is a win.🥰 I’m now at a certain age and as I have an autoimmune disease as well as little energy I am looking to reduce as much as possible so that my home is easy to maintain. The more things you have, the more to clean, the more to maintain, etc. 😩

That last tip made me think of the 3 in 1 garbage can I wanted. I couldn't find them anywhere (or the one I wanted at least). I looked at the usual place, ikea, home depot, etc. Long story short, I never found it. But one random, day while walking, I see one on the curb being thrown away. I could not believe my eyes. A perfectly working one sitting on the curb being thrown out. Needless to say, I snatched that thing up quick fast😂. The universe certainly has a way of looking out😊.

Was sorry to hear you had Covid. Hoping you recover soon. 👍I am on a decluttering and organizing journey. This past week I have decluttered and organized underneath both of our bathroom vanities. What surprised me was my husband decluttered his items. Looks much nicer and have some empty space. I am happy with results. Thank you for all the inspiration.

I love that you found what works for you for your home. So important. That will be different for each person and their particular space. My body automatically does any remaining dishes at night. Others are rinsed and placed in the dishwasher after using. The exception is we use the same cup or glass throughout the day.

I also struggle sometimes thinking my house looks more ‘put together’ with more pictures on the walls etc…..they also cover up all the holes I’ve put in the walls over the years 🙄. However, I really love the calm, empty spaces and generally having less stuff on my walls and in my house x

Good advice! It’s hard to do a lot of these things with kids. I find that my kid has so much stuff that I’m getting rid of my stuff to compensate.
