I'm for the Killer Whales.. it's their territory.. and probably sick of what humans have done to the oceans.

Stealing Orcas from their famillies (pods) is akin to kidnapping.

Although we call them "killer whales, " orcas are in fact a gigantic species of dolphin. They are incredibly intelligent and believe it or not, research has indicated that they may indeed have a complex spoken language. They definitely teach various behaviors to others of their kind. Anyway, I think what we're seeing here is animosity toward the boats -- not the humans on the boats. So we should try to figure out why they feel threatened by boats. We're the intruders here. The sea belongs to them.

It's their territory. We're just encroaching their space!

Hmm don't orcas attack tail fins to disable their prey? Rudders look like tail fins!

I cn't believe that I'm the only one who understands that the whales are sick of all the noise made by commercial shipping, ALL around the world. They can't hide from the nightmare. Probably also why they commit suicide by beaching themselves.

Let's just turn things around for a moment, and consider this scenario:
The ocean dwellers are the ones using _our_ living quarters, dry land that is, as their sewer, and are the ones dumping all their considerable and hazardous waste, onto us.
That, besides competing for our food.

-Just a thought.

20 years ago an Orca damaged my cousins boat off the west coast of Vancouver Island
Knocked the rudder off and followed him around for days.
The marine biologists from the area thought the Orca ( who was juvenile ) had perhaps lost his pod and was attempting to make friends.

Just simply let them live their own lives and don't encroach their spaces.

Boredom and defense. Orcas are very smart, social animals and when they bored they may result to seek company of another orcas and do things together. Moreover, orcas are territorial and they hunt within a certain territory. They may associate ships with a competition within their territory and they may want to scare it off, not kill it based on the fact that orcas never leave their pray if they have a chance to finish it off.

Quite the opposite of what recently happened here in the Philippines a few days ago. Orca "Killer" whales were friendly with local fishermen and even swam alongside the small outrigger boats.

Personally I would be looking at the sound emissions coming off these boats. They have very sensitive hearing.. Depth sounders, sonar, Beethoven second symphony or maybe even some new released pop song playing on the boast stereo that annoys the heck out of them. Even look at electronic rust protection as the drivers often emit a high pitch tone that is above human audible range.

Orcas aren't too big on boats with fish finders (sonar) either.

its the disturbing radio signals these vessels send out and this also explains why they don't attack the safety boats.
