I love the aproach you have towards linux in general, very sane, very mature and the way you present everything is very natural. I can't stand most of the linux youtubers but you are on another level. Hope you get more recognition :)

Good video, thanks mate (from Libya). I've used Mint for years on and off. I now use it at work (my organisation uses windows but I use the web apps or other clients to allow me to connect). I stayed using windows again this week and it drove me crazy with frustration.

That is a big leap for the kernel. I run an older machine with Mint Cinnamon, but even my LMDE 6 machine's Kernel is only 6.1.0-22 as of the update I did today. Nice initial review of Mint 22. 👍 Also, Welcome back.

Nice to see that you're still at it, IG. You, Spatry, and one other Arch/Manjaro guy (forgot his name lol) influenced me to switch to Linux in 2014ish. It has been a decade now and I think you're the only one that's still active. Keep it up!

@infinitleygalactic You have used LM jus a month or two more than I have. I switched 5 laptops to LM and have been quite happy with it, after I found all the software and utilities I needed. And the replacements were actually improvements over what I used on windows.

I noticed Adwaita was removed from the theming options when I was playing with the live boot last night. That sucks since I like to use it.

The updates are sane. The move to use newer kernel is a good move, better gaming and hardware support. I had to install mint edge to get my wifi card working.

So the installer still gives me the @ and @home Subvolumes when installing on btrfs out of the box?

I enjoy your videos, and have learned a lot from them. Would like some advice if I may.
I have a 2021 Dell Vostro 3500, Core i-7 1165-g7, 16 gb ram(max). I am not big on using the terminal, most of my daily activities involve using the graphical interface and I cannot remember how to effectively use the terminal. Wanted to run Linux Mint 21.2, which I installed on a new ssd. Worked okay until I started trying to connect with my router USB drive. I spent 1and1/2 days trying to use terminal to connect. Finally installed Files(nautilas) and connected with it graphically. Everything seemed to be working fine, until the next day, my internet speed( Spectrum) upload dropped from 9.7mbps to .6 mbps. The only way I could get it back was to revert back to windows(swapping ssd) and reset various network settings, updated the drivers. Then I went back to Mint, worked okay for a few days, then I wanted to connect up to Dropbox, and I run into same problem with the internet speed. My questions is: Is there another distro of Linux that would work better? and Is this an issue with my laptop?

Really am hoping that there is an easy in-place way to upgrade to this new release once it's out. I've replaced Windoze on a few of my client's machines with Mint and would be a shame if it required a full reinstall.. Update automation is on in the Update Manager.
