if you having problems opening with xed, and are receiving bad output from terminal. Use nano instead and remodify sources.list then save
make sure to "sudo apt remove mintupgrade" if you got a bad install from this then update apt cache after sources.list is modified with nano and sudo apt install mintupgrade

I must compliment the creator of this video. This is the only YouTube video, of the many I have seen, that details the process without rambling and side commentary, and without background banjo music composed by the narrator's Uncle Bosephus. However, you are forcing me to watch this video, write down the steps one by one, until all of them are on paper. Why didn't Linux Mint simply provide a simple printable document describing these steps? There are none on any of the Linux Mint official sites, or any of the "expert" sites. Is this process a conspiracy to force us to watch the regular gang of egotistical YouTube blowhards (NOT Mr. Explaining Computers, of course) ramble on, show pictures of their cats, and venting their frustrations about life in general? Mr. Explaining, this would be perfect if you added a text of these steps, in these comments, that we could simply print out. You'd be one up on Linux Mint...think about that!
