Real-life Minecraft redstone (old style) RGB cube with Arduino
Показать описание
In this video, I showcase a homemade redstone cube inspired by Minecraft, featuring an RGB light inside. The cube offers several interactive modes that can be activated by tapping it, while some modes remain static. Using an Arduino Nano as the base board, additional modes can be easily integrated.
List of the present modes:
- 00:00 - Redstone
- 00:24 - Standby
- 00:45 - Changing colors
- 01:16 - Randomly changing colors
- 01:39 - Lamp
- 01:54 - Fast flashes
- 02:06 - Visual metronome (follows the rhythm your tapping in it)
- 03:02 - Police Lights
- 03:19 - Simon game
- 04:20 - Serial music (change the lights according to the music)
Since the cube has only one physical input (tapping) and no external buttons, mode switching is achieved through a specific tap sequence (key). Moreover, the board can receive serial data via the serial port, allowing color changes through a computer. I used a Python program to process system music and send RGB values to the cube via the serial port.
If you have any suggestions for improving the cube or ideas for new modes, I’d love to hear them! Let me know if you want the schematics, codes, or a complete tutorial if you’re interested.
