Also, he explains the basics of treating the wound right after the bite to help prevent or minimize the infection. I didn't realize how dangerous a cat bite could be until one of the local veterinarians actually died as the result of a cat bite. He was in the hospital on IV antibiotics, but he didn't make it.

Even after having experience with wild and dangerous animals, cats are still the animals I fear the most!
Thank you for this important advice, and the glance into your own life. 😊

A cat bite without medical attention is life threatening. Even with immediate medical attention if you have a compromised immune system it is very serious. My cousin got bit and didn't go to the doctor until 3 days later. It was a 2 week hospital stay and he had 3 surgeries. Waiting to get medical attention resulted in him no longer being able to fully close his left hand and his dexterity with that hand was also severely diminished. This happened when we we're 15 or 16. He is now 30 years old and is still afraid of cats.

In my own experience, I've had to treat more cat scratches on my body, thankfully, than bites. And that's my own fault due to being lax about keeping her claws trimmed back then (she unintentionally scratched my skin simply by kneading too hard or digging them in when I held her high up). The closest thing to a bite I get from Taco is when I let her lay on my chest and she head bunts me. Sometimes she rubs her face on mine so vigorously that she may try to do a soft nip at my nose or mouth.

They're light nips for a cat but of course what would feel like nothing on my hand, boy is it felt on the softer face tissue. I usually dissuade her by turning my face away when I feel her mouth hovering over my mouth/nose.

Hi! What a bad and unexpected reaction from this cat 🤪...so 1 in 4 is 25% of people bitten 🤯...quite a lot... On the spay I asked you the other day, it's now exactly a month since she got spayed...one little problem I've got is that she's Chucky with a white and soft coat and with sweet manners...Friday and Sat she killed two little collared doves that come to eat to my patio 😭😭 Been reading and have found 3 things that could be effective: a collar called Catbib, feeding her more red meat (although I do some times a week) and playing with her 5 to 10 min everyday....and my intuition tells me that letting her out at night reduces her wish to prey during the day...what's your take on this doctor Orion? 🗣️🛑

I don't have health insurance I'm taking care of a litter one of them died today I have about 7 dollars to my name. All bills are due and I can't afford to buy anything the kitten was sick I tried to make him survive and get better. His jaw closed shut while giving him water with a dropper he bit my finger accidentally it was his fault But now my finger is swallen and hard and even feels cold. Only one of his teeth went in. What advise can you please give me. I don't have a lot of options. And I don't want to stop taking care of the ones that are still alive I'm all they got.
