Start with a smaller bit. Then drill 1/2 way through both sides with a larger one so you don’t blowout the other side of the board.

Or you can use the holes and put a master lock on it. Hope this helps.

It doesn’t tension the lock clip, it only lifts when code is put in. If you were able to do so from the bottom to hold the lock down, that would fix your problem

I use an auto taser with face recognition software. Just mounted the sucker on the gate post.
