The Kia e-Niro isn't very exotic, but it might just be the easiest electric car to live with on the market today. Mainly because of its MASSIVE BATTERY. Mark explains all...

We’ve had our 64 kWh e-Niro since March 2019, one of the first to come into France where we live. Two years and 40, 000 km in and we love it, not a single problem with it. We’ve done road trips to Switzerland, the UK and long trips around France, sometimes rapid charging has been a challenge but no disasters. The long term ownership experience is recorded on Kia e-Niro Diaries Encore.

I have had the 4+ now for 2 months, it is an amazing car! 5 miles per kW in and around town.

Just as this publishes - Kia announced a big-battery 2 spec to squeak the price under £35k so it still gets the grant (£32445 otr). Good review though, thanks.

The back seats in the Niro is actually very spacious both leg and head room I know because I owned one. You need to consider your own height before commenting on space, not everyone is 6 foot and over.

Finally a car reviewer that points out no one buys a car for cash these days.

You should have more viewers for the quality/entertainment of your reviews.

Thanks, a very fair review. I like buttons, which is why I did not buy an M3, also, you just know it will be reliable, and a huge dealer network just in case my faith in their reliability is tested.

I also reviewed the Kia E-Niro in my channel, great car! But practicality was poor. But the picture is great, and that is, it's an electric car!

E-Niro is a very good car at a good price, and an interesting option for families. It has some minor shortcomings that kept it from being my next car: Slower DC charging (especially in winter, although this might have been improved in the 2021 model), the boot was a bit smaller than what we wanted, and the road noise a bit too much.

I had a test drive of 4+, Kona, and ZS EV. I don't agree with you on Kona's interior (but this is just a preference), I definitely prefer shiny plastic in the colour of metal, to niro's piano black. And if you add this piano black to the small roof window.. Niro is almost black hole (sun) dark inside, compared to MG ZS higher trim. It's a very nice driver car, but for the small family, I would be happy with ZS, more comfort, small kids are in car seats anyway..

E-Niro 2 Long Range (64KWh / 201 HP) available from July. Swung it for me!

Very nice review! In Norway, Kia only sells the long-range version, and I'm very much looking forward to my new car (currently in transport...). In Norway it is also sold with a 7-year warranty, which definitely is a plus!
But are you correct when comparing it with the Hyundai Kona, saying it's built on the same chassis? The Kia e-Niro is, as far as I know, built on the same chassis as the Hyundai Ionic. The Kona is 20 cm shorter than the e-Niro, the leg room in the back seat is smaller and the boot is more than 100 l smaller. I tried the Kona before bying the e-Niro, and the Kona just didn't compare.

It ticks all the right boxes but I still don't want one . Therein lies the problem . Honda E doesn't tick many boxes at all but desire is huge .
Megan Markle reference is classic Mark . Cheers.

Mark, I’ve watched your video on the id.3 and now the e-Niro. If you were putting your money down to buy one, which is your choice? Look forward to possibly an I’d.4 review, as we actually won’t be getting the id.3 over here in British Columbia, Canada. Or at least not yet. Thanks Jade

Would you mind stating how tall you are for reference when you review the car, I am 6'6" tall and am thinking about an e-Niro to replace my BMW i3 (which is surprisingly roomy)

Tis worth noting that Kia specifically says that owners should never change wheels themselves, because jacking up their EV's could lead to battery damage. So you're basically a slave to AA.

So what’s better out of this and an electric soul?

I would need at least the '3' as I need the range but would pay the extra £10k for a Tesla model 3 Long range AWD given the 'different class' of vehicle that it is.

Silly, silly electric cars that we will cringe at in 15yrs time.
Kia e-Niro = £4, 000 per year rental - I bought a 2yr old Laguna ten years ago for £6, 500 and it's been amazing.
