nothing can improve this process.
I did the same thing, but levelling cement over a failed heated floor that no longer worked because a flood in the house we were second owners in.
Spent about 4 hours doing what you did by hand.. absolute hell. Then found out my neighbor has 2 electric jack hammers. The other half took about 10-15 minutes. That was a time saver for SURE! And a shoulder/arm/back/knees saver lol.

You do realize that you can rent tools, so you wouldn't have to buy them and never use them again, problem solved.

Maybe a small air hammer could have helped. I also use them on front shock bolts, so it’s a tool with a lot of uses. Those are the kinda tools to buy. Edit: oh lol good

In Australia you can hire power tools at hire shops or hardware big box stores hammer drill with chisel head would have had that done in about 2-4 hours. Sucks you had to do it all manually, I've been there before.

FYI watch out doing the floor before getting car lifts fitted if you plan to get that, sometimes the concrete needs reinforcing due to the weight and it would be a shame to have to rip up a nice new floor after spending all that cash!
