My biggest fear was not having all the equipment I needed to start a channel, and rn I still don't have all that I need to put a good video out there, but don't let that stop you, just start with what you have and invest in those things you need which you will get with time. And overall be consistent and patient.
Thank you Jeven(and everyone) for this video, I know it's been a while this was uploaded but it's really still helpful and encouraging.

6:41 "Every time you put a video out that's another chance for someone to find you." Such a good quote and summarizes perfectly what a starting YouTuber should do!

The key is to produce content you're passionate about and remain consistent, regardless of analytics. Thanks for the tips, Jeven! They were all very useful.

Biggest mistake is procrastinating and making things a bigger deal than they are =) Just go with the flow and create a lot! :D

"Crippled by the fear of judgement and rejection" I think that is almost everyone's concern

The fear part at 8:10 and 14:00 is so true. I spent several months preparing my first video and then spent haft a year doing nothing. Why? I'm just scared. Thank you for your video Jeven and all of the creators in this video. I should start now.

Here are MY BEST TIPS. 1. Learn collab etiquette! Establish a relationship with someone before asking them to work together. 2. Find your "WHY?" Why are you doing YT? And when times get tough (because they will!) remind yourself of that so you can keep going. :)

About Thumbnails- I was taught in art school the most important part of book jacket design was not the cover, but the spine. Back in the day when we still went to bookstores, sometimes all you saw was the spine, as the books where lined up on the shelf. Depending on what that spine looked like determined whether or not you slide that book out to look through it. Building a thumbnail is much like this I think. In that it's a very small but important way to draw viewers in.

Overthinking and dwelling instead of doing has to be one of the biggest mistakes. Finally got started after 10 years on the platform

I wish I saw this video 2 years ago. The procrastination part hit home for me. I got a taste for video creation 6 years ago, but I am only now setting up my equipment and studio to finally publish my first video later this month.

What fueled that procrastination was a huge case of imposter syndrome. I wanted to talk about the thing I love, Architecture. But I am yet a registered architect. I overcame that mentality when I realized, hey, whether I’m registered or not I still have a passion for it. So I’m launching on the things that I’m currently passionate about, architecture, design, branding and real estate.

Nov 2021 is my month. Thanks for the video, and thanks for helping future YouTubers.

Another great video! We are both in our 80's and maybe the oldest-newest YouTubers ever! We recently created our healthy-aging advice YT channel to inspire & help people of any age. It was a real challenge for us, but thanks to you & your tips, we are growing every day! We are now over 2, 000 subscribers and of course, working for more. Very grateful to you and your followers, too.

One big mistake I did was trying to churn out as much content as possible.
The stress eventually made me lose all interest in the process and it's taken me almost 2 years to regain the passion for making videos again.
Just like what was mentioned in the video, it's not a sprint, you need to think long-term.
Another thing, especially for me as a "projects channel" is that I've been sloppy with documenting the process.
It's much better to have a bit too much media to sort through when editing than too little.

I’m glad to hear so many people say they have FEAR 🥶 Also, I’m glad people say NOT to focus on being perfect! I always want everything to be so damn perfect, that feeling makes you want to wait until your 100% ready and it just prolongs your progress. I’m learning to just let go! It’s very intimidating when your just beginning and you watch these other channels that are so advanced and perfect and here you are starting out with an iPad and iMovie 🤪 but if I wait until I have the right equipment, I may never begin 🤯

finding the balance between eye-catching thumbnails and thumbnails that fit your vibe, or between a click bait title VS titles that still feel 'you' is the hardest part of all for me. I want to be noticed, but I also want to be authentic! Anyone else feel this same struggle?

Never compare your beginning to other peoples middle.

What Dave Maze said REALLY resonated with me! Both saying "no" to other obligations and trying to connect other creators on the platform. I will definitely have to work on these... amongst other things. I guess the most important thing is to just start and learn along the way.

Stop worrying about failure because it is kinda inevitable, the point is to keep your mind open for the lessons you learn from them and listen to others' suggestions (if it's constructive advice). Eventually, we will get there :)

Thanks for the brilliant video, it is such a great summary!
