Eating The Spiciest Meal Ever at 'Painful Heat' | I Could Barely Speak...

This spicy meal was recommended to me by a local friend in Chengdu, who also loves spicy food. You choose your vegetable and meat skewers from the fridge and then give them to the server and they boil them for you in their spicy oil and serve them to you in a bowl half full of oil as well. You dip the skewers in a spice mix and WOW this was hot. REALLY HOT. EXTREMELY HOT.

To be honest, I'm wasn't a huge fan of the other spicy foods they served here like pig brain, rabbit kidney, and rabbit head, but when in Rome...

So I tried it all and must say that they were all so-so, except for the pig brain which I didn't like. My local friend loved it all, but also admitted that it was just a little too spicy for him, although he did mention that next time he will bring me to an even spicier place!!

There was some amazing sugarcane juice from a stall outside of the restaurant which made a perfect dessert after that spicy meal and really helped cool me down.

I am from Chengdu, I love your videos! Thank you for appreciating all the food and culture in Chengdu. To be honest, I will probably stay away from some of the CangYingGuanZi for the sake of my stomach! But I know they are so good!! Thank you Trevor!

At 4 min 30 sec you can hear some beer bottles being kicked over by someone. It is common practice in Chinese restuarants to keep the empties with you and store them on the floor so as to keep track of how many bottles you and your guests have drank at your table. It keeps track of the tally and charges and keeps everyone honest [the servers and drinkers alike] when you are presented with the bill. It's hard to dispute the charges when the empties are seating around your table and feet.

I have seen many foodie on tube, you are the best, the reason in your comments you are real, and shows lot of respect for local culture which is unique to you. set you apart from the rest. also you come out vary simple and informative without any offending style. about your hand using while eating food, try right hand, if you can. left hand is use in cleaning behind.
