How to stain cherry. Antique cherry look in minutes!!

How to get an antique cherry look in minutes. Cherry is very beautiful and has a lot of potential. I have found that when people want "cherry" they want the antiqued cherry look that takes years or decades to achieve otherwise. Staining never works and even if it did, the wood would darken over time and change color anyway. This technique can be used on any piece, but in rinsing it, it does raise the grain. So it needs a VERY light sanding after the application of oven cleaner. Good luck, please comment any questions or thoughts you have. Thanks for watching!

It would help to know HOW LONG you left the oven cleaner on before you rinsed. That seems like a critical step. Little help please.

Gorgeous! great technique! How much time between stages of prep, such as dry times etc...?

Unfortunately the lack of talk is a lack of direction, like the final coat etc...

Very clever! Have you tried it on figured maple?

Try oven cleaner on a glue joint piece. Would you then end up with as many separate pieces you started with?

What was the spray you used for the final coat?

So what did you use on that Second and third Pass? A short glimps of the can looked blue. But it couldn't have been the can you first said no too! Or was it?

What spices of wood did you use? Pine? Oak?
