Thank you!!! I love this quilt and have wanted to make one - and I am a seasoned quilter! - but didn't realize the simplicity of the process. I am starting a baby quilt TONIGHT for a new little Texan, born yesterday, with this pattern. And whoever didn't like this site and posted a thumbs down, get some help.

I saw one tutorial with a 2.5” to start, then a 4.5” then a 6.5”. Alternating the 4.5” with the 6.5”. So I’m trying that first. If it fails, my dog will get that one, to be honest he’s getting it no matter how it turns out! He will love it. Thanks for your ideas guys!

Thank you thank you for this video. I'm a new quilter and have been needing to make a quilt for one of my grown up grandsons ... all in black and white (geometrical patterns). It has been daunting trying to find a pattern that I thought I could actually accomplish and I think this will do it. In fact, I have almost finished a row. So excited.

Have been wanting to make a French Braid quilt for a long time. Your video tutorial shows just how easy they are to put together. I will make one in Christmas fabrics today and hope it turns out as nice as your did.

I never cut my chevron until I have the sashing sewed on. Where he cuts I mark & sew sashing on because all those side pieces r on the buas

Odd that YouTube suggested this to me tonight. I’m not a quilter! I have made three quilts though in the past 6 years. When a friend told me she was making a mask scraps quilt and then said mine scraps were too small I decided I would make a mask scraps quilt. I cut all the 2.5” x 6” pieces I could. Then started making blocks from my smallest blocks.
I only finished 5 - 8” squares before I stared back to college. Nontraditional student. So today I started making the braid from those 2.5” x 6” pieces. Thank you for the review.

I use left and right 45°angles, cut in pairs "R" sides together. I don't use a starting square, I partial seam the cut off top bits onto the base. All the angles go to the outside, which gives you straight edges. No waste.

Great minds think alike! I’m in the process of making a braid border. And I’m using fabrics I bought from Sew Year. I’ll post a pic on Instagram tomorrow.

What is the name of the jelly roll you're using in the tutorial. It is beautiful I would love to purchase.

I love your mat, the block sizes are so distinct and easy to see. Now your tutorial excellent no fancy quilting language and just straight up and direct. I have a jelly roll that is calling this to be made. Thank you again for your great and super easy to follow tutorial.💓
