I realize your examples are just for illustration purposes, but when approaching problems when summing based on conditions, sumif or sumifs is far superior than arrays. Using arrays takes significantly more time to process in high volumes (i.e more than 500 cells calculating) vs. the sumif(s) function. Run a comparison between the two methods for large data groups and you'll see the array method is at least 10x slower than using Sumif's. Not a bad demonstration though -- I didn't know how to include Or (+) into array if-statements (though I've never had to).
