That outro solo has to be one of the most haunting solos of Dime's IMHO - it rips hard.

Love Pantera to death. They've been my favorite Heavy Metal band since I first heard them back in 1990 shortly after Cowboys From Hell was released. Had the pleasure of seeing them live 6 times in Philly and Jersey. Also have one of Dimebag's guitar picks that he threw out to the crowd. It's a black pick with his face on one side and signature on the other side. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SMOKEY!

Happy birthday Smokey! Btw, that Pantera news is about a Pantera reunion tour. On a side note, I'm glad you guys did the studio version of this song because the music video cuts out the best part of the song!

This song tends to fly under the radar, but it represents the raw talent and power of prime Pantera. Thanks for taking me back.

This came out when I was coming up on 14. Blew my mind entirely one night sitting watching Headbanger's Ball on MTV at midnight or 1am. Went out and bought this album and Cowboys From Hell at the mall that week. Hits so damned hard that it surprised the hell outta me when they came back in 94 with Far Beyond Driven, and it was even heavier.
Ayy happy birthyness sir.

🥁🎸🎶🎸🥁 No. More. Head. Trip. 🤘🏻 Vulgar Display Of Power is permanently in my top 10 albums. "F*cking Hostile" is next on my list. Thanks for rocking with me this morning. P.L.U.R.R. from ATX!

Saw them in 94 with Sepultura and Prong. They were on Far Beyond Driven and Sepultura was on Chaos AD \m/

Nah, this isn't grunge. This is one of Pantera's ballads, same as "Cemetery Gates". You guys should check out "The Sleep" next time, the riffs are tasty and it's got one of Dime's greatest solos (if not, THE greatest). I know you guys will love that song, great reaction guys! 🤘🤘🤙🤙

Pantera basically invented "the breakdown" there are maybe 1 or 2 other examples of something similar prior to them but personally I would credit them with the invention of the technique. A lot of what your hearing in Dimes playing that sounds like "other instruments" is a digitech whammy pedal and/or his ability to pull what's called harmonics and bend them up or down. Harmonics is where you lightly touch a place on the string that creates a high pitched tone then you can use the whammy bar to bend that tone up or down.

Happy Birthday Smokey. I didn't realize that I liked this song for years until YouTube came out.

Phil channeling his inner Layne Staley in this one. Love this tune!

You guys should react to Geezer - "Seance Fiction" or "The Invisible." It's a band started by Geezer Butler, who was the bassist of Black Sabbath, with Burton Bell from Fear Factory on vocals. The first album is fucking brilliant and almost no one knows about them. Thank you Mortal Kombat soundtrack for introducing me to them back in the 90's!
