This album hit the scene in '91 and was a nuclear bomb of a hit

I saw Pantera in 91 from the front row. A near death experience but I never felt more alive. RIP Dimebag. One of the greatest to ever do it.

Pantera has one of the wildest stories in metal. They were an obscure hair metal band in the late 80s and for some reason just knew to reinvent themselves as this band. One of the founders of a new metal sound, groove metal. I can't think of any other band who was able to do this.

Dimebag is a riff master and his solos masterful. Goddamn Electric is another great Pantera song

R.I.P. Dimebag Darryl and Vinnie Paul, two of the hardest rocking brothers in history 🤘🏻🔥

RIP Dime (guitars) and Vinnie (drums).

And yes, as teens in the early 90s, our parents did often wonder what it was we listened to. Pantera started off as a glam metal band like Motley Crue, Poison, etc. When Phil (vocals) was hired, that's when the sound changed.

I'll be seeing the current Pantera lineup play this Friday with Metallica at AT&T Stadium. Metallica performs a two night set on this tour and this weekend is in Arlington, TX. Which also happens to coincide with Dime's birthday, and to play in his home town.

"We're taking over this town"

His voice is really THAT deep. Even deeper. The fact that he could reach those high notes with it in Cemetery Gates back in the day is a testament to his versatility as a singer.

Anyway, I'm actually quite surprised you haven't reacted to their live performance of DOMINATION just yet. That's quite a staple for a lot of music reaction channels. You should give it a go. Like seriously.

It'll blow your minds. Or one of your discs. 😅

Oh YESSSS!! 🥰🥰🥰 Pantera makes me think of my dad (RIP). 💙💙💙 Whenever he finished his chemo treatments, I'd blast Pantera on our one hour drive home and he would come ALIVE in that back seat, no matter how weak he was from the chemo. He would JAM OUT, and when we would get home, he would say "Thanks Nae" with the biggest smile. Then he would go inside and have the best nap ever. 😂 I grew up listening to Pantera, and I also would hear my dad play their music on guitar (among many other bands). Thanks for reminding me of my dad and all the memories shared with him. 💗

Love this song! "This Love" is also a must hear. You guys watched the concert Metallica played at in Russia when they did "Enter Sandman". Pantera was the band that actually opened that concert. They hit hard, love them. Of course RIP Dimebag and Vinnie Paul. Brothers reunited again rocking it out. Safe to say though for my parents, they weren't worried about me. My Dad has the Pantera songs I have on his playlist. Afterall, he introduced me to Black Sabbath, AC/DC, etc. I got him into Metallica, Pantera and Alice In Chains. LOL 🤘😎🤘

You know who else you haven’t reacted to in over a year. QUEENSRYCHE! Please get back to them. Take Hold of the Flame (live in Tokyo 1984), Silent Lucidity, Jet City Woman, Operation Mindcrime, Empire, Suite Sister Mary, The Killing Words, Della Brown. So many great ones. You all haven’t even scratched the surface of Progressive Metal. 😁🤘🎶💕🎶

I'm impressed at how far Amber has come, I'm not sure she's ready for Napalm Death or Deicide yet, but I reckon she could get into some Sepultura. Other tracks that I really like by Pantera include The Art Of Shredding, Rise, The Sleep, This Love. Their cover of "Planet Caravan" also showcases their softer side.

I like the raw anger of "I'm Broken" and "By Demons be Driven" myself. Then again, "Mouth for War" is pretty intense.

Pantera’s far beyond driven was the first metal album I bought in high school and completely opened my eyes to some of the best music ever created. DimeBag Darrel is still my all time favorite guitarist. RIP

Amber: "...if you listened to Pantera your parents were probably worried about you"
Me: "she ain't wrong."
and in '91 I was only 8 years old but see my older brother and sister practically raised me because our parents were always working. My brother was in a heavy metal band and my sister was an anti-social alt-punk. So if my parents were out really late, my little brother and I got to stay up and watch Headbanger's Ball. 🤘

Im gonna request “domination” next then “I’m broken” second for pantera! Love this group and love the reaction! Keep doing this band and then go check them out on tour now celebrating the life of dime and Vinny! They opened up for Metallica for a couple of concerts just a few weeks back and they kicked ass!

Being from Fort Worth TX, Arlington TX was about 20 minutes away, you could see Dimebag walking around sometimes down to earth guy, always made time for the fans.
