4:56 Historically speaking, Sony have priced their consoles the same numerically, even across different currencies (e.g. the PS4 launched at $399 and €399 in north america and europe respectively, with Britain being the only exception at £349). I wouldn't be so sure that the PS5 won't follow the same pattern.

Edit: It's the same story with the PS3 as far as I have researched (again, minus Great Britain).

Important thing of note about the price for that PS5 listed on amazon, in French it reads "all the prices include VAT (value added tax)" (which in France is 20%), so that price should actually be around €419, making $471.22 USD or $639.09 for my fellow Canadians out there. Honestly not terrible.

FYI usually (at least in France), the price for gaming console in euro is the same as in dollars, meaning that if it's branded at 499€, it will be 499$, not 599$.

Electronics pricing in Europe doesn't quite work that way. You can pretty much just change the euro symbol to a dollar one without conversion due to taxes and stuff being lower on your side (mainly because you tend to display pricings before taxes are applied).
