HOW TO Level your LAWN FLAT. Topdressing

I have spent years leveling my lawn. WHY SAND AND NOT SOIL? Stay tuned to the end of the video. This is the process that I have used to make my lawn flat and smooth. If you have very deep holes in the lawn that need to be filled in, I would recommend that you first use soil, and then seed your lawn. This lawn is a cool-season kentucky bluegrass lawn. Cool season lawns want a smaller amount of sand. If you have a bermudagrass lawn you can really go heavy at it.

If you want to see more stuff like this then subscribe to my channel and like the video.

Ron Jeremy was known for his penetrating ability to fill all kinds of holes, cracks and crevices. I'm glad to see he's still at it.

Not gonna lie, I clicked on the video because of that working man's diploma you're sporting on your head. Truly a lawn worthy of that mullet. Good shit 🤙

If a lawn guy came to my house with that majestic mullet, he’d have the job

I've commercialy cut for over a decade. As much as we love flat lawns, make sure you're not a dummy and regrade your home slope pitch. Get that water away from your home or your foundation will be gone. New viewer here, and don't know if you regraded your pitch. All lawns should have a pitch. No matter how flat you want it, flat doesn't mean it has to be "level" with your foundation. Flat could be flat on your pitch. Great job at the top dressing though! I see some small pitch changes

Fricken SOLID video! Different scenes (yard, quarry, etc), different camera angles, smooth transitions with voiceovers and good music. Not easy making videos but you nailed it. Great commentary, great family working together, great content.

Sir, thank you for this video. I live at the end of the street where we have the privilege of being the end of the drainage and water run off. They finished off my yard and it looks like it could be a rollercoaster. I’ve had to use top soil to fill in to even that out. It’s been expensive because the back yard is over an acre. Then I have let the soul settle and I keep adding as it lowers. The grass is growing through it. Then I’ve had to watch the heavy rains so I know where to redirect it so I don’t mess up what I’ve done. It has been a process. Then the weeds. Crabgrass and every thing else you can imagine. I am going to do what you did to your yard once I get it under control. I work out there every day! Your yard gave me goals. Also, you have fabulous hair. I don’t know if people tell you that but I thought I would. And the boy is going to grow up to be a hard worker.

The power of the mullet definitely is the reason the lawn looks so good

Memories. I watched ur channel a lot along with lawn care nut and that other guy from North Carolina back in 2018 when I lived at home taking care of my parents front yard. Been in my apt for 4 years now. Good nostalgia

I noticed from top dressing greens at a golf course. When dragging, the faster you go the more sand you drag with you. The slower you go the more sand that falls into the grass. So you speed up over thick areas of sand and slow down once you hit bare spots to spread the sand.

Really appreciate the detail regarding soil vs. sand, after reading the description it seems like rough lawn could use a soil application first year then sand after. It was great to see how heavy the application looks at first and the logic behind bringing it down to the base of the soil level. This answered a ton of questions I had about top dressing. Zero ambitions to make our lawn look like a golf course, but, super bumpy bullsh*t is the worst and knowing how to fix it effectively is awesome, thank-you!

We had a homeowner who added a SlabSure250 foundation monitor on a home with a lawn like this. I asked him how he did it and he pointed me to this guy. Rockin' the 'stache! Guess if we're going to preach foundation maintenance, we should practice yard maintenance. Well done.

I’m sure it helps to have a level grade on your property in the first place, I see you even need a drain it’s so flat. It seems like a much more difficult job for those of us with slopes, drainage ditches and years of heavy freeze/thaw cycles wreaking havoc on the turf.
