Australians, New Zealanders gather for Anzac Day in Canakkale

April 25th marks Anzac Day which was originally devised to honour the Australian and New Zealand army corps who fought in the Gallipoli campaign during the First World War. A dawn ceremony has been held in Türkiye at the exact place where troops landed in 1915 to launch their campaign. Asli Atbas reports from Anzac Cove in Canakkale.

The impression that we get is that the occupiers are back in Turkiye, not as repentant criminals and invaders, but as mourners of their martyrs and fallen countrymen.

We celebrate “Anzac” day each year in Australia but actually it was a failed agressive colonial expansion project to conquer Istanbul, because of its trade route value, on par morally with any other colonial invasion, or Hitler expanding Germany. Churchill is was bloodthirsty war monger and with respect both our our victims in Australia and the more innocent victims in Turkey, we shouldn’t be celebrating this failed war in Australia each year, but condemning it.

I'm happy to see people being able to come together while leaving the past conflicts behind. And i respect people commemorating their lost ones unless they are some criminals ofc and these anzacs soldiers certainly and clearly arent. Ethnic wars is a tool mainly used by corrupted rich men.
