Circle theorems - the angle in a semicircle is a right angle

If we take a circle with diameter AB, and add another point C on the circumference of the triangle, it will form a triangle ABC. The angle C will be a right angle. This is true no matter where we place the point.

C is called the andle in a semicircle, so we say that the angle in a semicircle is a right angle.

Suitable for UK GCSE, IB MYP, US grades 9+. Typically taught to students aged 14 and above.
