5 Japanese phrases for travelers to remember: “KEKAS”
1. Konnichiwa “Hi, Hello”
2.Eki(station) wa doko(where) desuka? “Where is a station?”
(It can be used even if you change the "Eki" to a toilet or hotel)
3.Kore(this) wa nani(what) desuka? “What is this?”
(Kore wa nani-yen(￥) desuka? “How much is this?”)
4. Arigato “Thank you”
5.Sumimasen “Excuse me, Sorry”
(Can be used with 5124 and 5134 combos)
Don't forget your key case when traveling in Japan

If you have a negative image of police officers, you can ask a Japanese police officer, "Where is the hotel?" They will also help you when you lose something.

After many hours of being either on a plane or in an airport, finally laying in a bed is like the best feeling ever. My recommendation is not to plan anything to do until later in the day on the day after arrival. There's nothing more stressful that trying to race back out of the hotel after being exhausted from traveling all day before. Getting up later and having a relaxing lunch is a great way to just enjoy exploring the city.

One thing that helped my on my trip recently, was that if you have an Iphone, you can just make a Suica or Pasmo card in your phones wallet, and not have to worry about getting a physical card. And it works exactly the same as a physical card, except that you can reload it using any payment methods already on your phone instead of having to go to a machine.

@9:46 Verizon allows roaming in Japan for $10 per day. Absolutely ridiculous. E-sims are much cheaper

100% ATM for conversion. If you have a debit card with zero overseas fees you can get the full current conv rate. We use capitol one for all of our debit ATMs in Japan. We got 1=153 in March (our last trip). At the airport it was 1=135. Massive difference.

If I am not mistaken, when withdrawing money from the ATM, don't accept the bank conversion rate as you lose out a bit. Also check your daily withdrawal limit, best to have a few bank cards to make several withdrawals if needed.
