My grandfather was chief engineer on a cruiser in WW2. His ship was sunk by dive bombing. I have quite a bit of history. I am a naval architect, I find this very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Would love to visit Belfast and see her engine room.

Served on a submarine that put out 105, 000 SHP, and burned about 20 grams of fuel each year.

Fascinating, could listen to Andy all day, so knowledgeable, RIP all the brave men who gave us our freedom and never came home.

When in London with a friend, we used a day looking inside Belfast.

What amazing is these SUPER COMPLICATED and HIGHLY PRECISELY MACHINED gears and turbines were created WITHOUT computers and computer controlled machining equipment - just pens, pencils, manual calculations, and hard won skill.

Even if you didn't show me a picture of the ship, I could still tell that it's likely NOT a Battleship.
