Most of this is true with one thing… Ragnar was real… they didn’t use last names like we do tho… so say Ragnar lothbrok sons wouldn’t be lothbroks… they would be called ragnarssons… or… ragnars son.. literally meaning son of Ragnar. You're wrong about the hair and face paint. The only thing that usually separated Viking men and women from their Saxon counterparts is that Vikings were actually cleaner, and more well groomed. The only evidence for them actually wearing face or body paint dates back to the Germanic tribes, who were very different than the Norse Raiders who came from the Northern territories. Norse men, including the Viking raiders, were not fierce looking, nor did they care to be. They wore colorful tunics, had combed and braided hair to ensure it was clean and well kept, they bathed regularly, at least by the standards of the time, and many had very neat and intricate tattoos all over their body which often told stories, poems, or sagas. The Vikings overall were actually much more neat and proper than the Saxons of the time.
