Depends on the Uni tbh, a lot of unis I know do a lot of software engineering courses in the CS program.

In India degree name is CSE but jobs are of Sofware Engineering majorly

Also to add on some comments In Canada software engineer is part of an Order / Professional Group. Meaning you must graduate from an engineering school to have the right to call yourself an Engineer which many people use in the states and aren't professional engineer.
And as mentioned everything/most of it seen in CS is seen in engineering

In my country (Canada) the courses you list for software engineering are also part of computer science.

CS has been really helpful to me for being able to learn and synthesize learnings from multiple fields

Both are the best in their aspects. In our opinion, you should opt for Software engineering if you are interested in software testing, development, and overall software life cycle. You can opt for Computer Science if you are interested in artificial intelligence, machine learning, security, database management, etc.

I love solving problems, building out stuffs that matter in real world, things which can be learned through courses, books, internships & creating side projects.
But it's really painful when colleges just hit you with boring theories, derivations, old hardware topics that are never used for so called degree !!!
