an (almost) 31-year-old's very non-fictional hangover

This is my first week back in my normal routine after traveling for work, having family come visit, and a big storm in Omaha that wiped my power out for a week. We’re jumping straight into it with a fridge full of rotten food and a new friend named James.

My thoughts on fiction: 12:30

Just keep hitting singles.
Love you! ♥

You staring at the fridge knowing you have to clean it but really not wanting to is exactly what being an adult is

The neurodivergent/AuDHD combination of having an immense sense of justice (not wanting to accidentally lie in your book) while also being extremely creative/a daydreamer (unlocking a fictional world) is so real

I'm not even two minutes in but the neurodivergent vibes are ✨ immaculate✨

Cleaning out any sort of bad smelling things is such a sensory nightmare and I’ve never related to a struggle so much. I too have just tossed the whole Tupperware rather than deal with that 😂

No other creator makes me feel so okay with being myself. It's like I see all the weird shit I shame myself for reflected back in your videos. I can't tell you enough how much comfort it brings me, how less alone I feel on the mental health mountain.

I will say, as much as I’ve missed your content on Instagram and tik tok, I am absolutely adoring and soaking in all of this long-form YouTube content. You are so genuine and your creativity really shines through on YouTube, and I’m loving every second ❤

James was concentrating too hard on those jokes and being quippy that he forgot to do his job! Where’s the cream James?!?

A tip for future Elyse! Since masks are still all over the place, find an essential oil that you like and put a drop or two of it in the mask and then wear the mask while doing the smelly task. It has saved me in situations like this. So proud of you! ❤️

How about Noah's song, Sideways, when he says, "I'm still angry at my parents for what their parents did to them"

Ugh! Heart breaking ❤️‍🔥

"I birthed two children" is my mantra for doing things I don't want to/feel like I can't do also. Happy Birthday, btw!

Immediately overthinking interactions, so relatable 😭😭

(Also, gently whispering “wear a mask!” so the fridge smells don’t bother you so much!)

You are a natural story teller - I would love to hear anything fictional you write! And no, it is not conceited for you to say that you are a good writer. You are a fantastic story teller, so it makes sense you would be! I’m so glad you’re giving yourself permission to explore the fictional worlds you can create!

I got so excited when you mentioned writing a fictional romance! After I watched one of your past videos about when you started dating your husband, I loved the way you described your relationship and was thinking your should totally write a romance. Also your book review videos are amazing, so I bet you are a natural

As a proud citizen of Broski Nation, and an avid follower of yours, we all agree that Brittany and Hozier need to get together, I actively manifest it on the daily.

That realization about creating from a place of authentic truth and wanting to be believed is so powerful and resonates deeply. I appreciate you. ♡°•☆
