TO JAMES and Maren, they aren't any different from other heterosexual couples. But other people have often mistaken them for just friends because of the way they look. 22-year-old James, who previously identified as gay, is a feminine-presenting man, whilst Maren, 20, is a masculine-presenting woman. Growing up, James came out as gay to his friends and family because it was "easier". Maren, who describes herself as bisexual, had only dated women before she met James over TikTok and the two hit it off instantly. When they shared their relationship online, James and Maren faced a lot of judgement as people struggled to comprehend their relationship. But the couple couldn't care less about what others say.

It makes sense in a way, she's attracted to feminity and he's attracted to masculinity. I hope they have a happy relationship.

This whole relationship is iconic. This is the gayest straight relationship I’ve ever seen and I love it

You know, they actually broke up, but then he got with another masculine presenting woman. So he really is straight and just attracted to masculinity.

It’s better than a toxic, narcissistic, gas lighting, disrespectful relationship.

Edit: Thanks for all the likes 😊😉

A heterosexual couple literally just expressing their personality.
Edit: I think there has been a misunderstanding, the couple is a heterosexual couple, that doesn't mean they don't have other sexual orientations or tendencies. I was simply pointing out that they are a man and a woman who are in a relationship and expressing themselves within that relationship. I was describing them as a unit and not as individuals

This is a heterosexual relationship, whether you like it or not.

You can't decide someone's sexuality based on how they look.

They both break through 2 different entire lines of stereotypes, incredible.

I like her chilled vibe. It balances out his diva energy. A good match.

Bro I was convinced by society that a relationship like this wasn't allowed to exist for half a decade

It’s different. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a straight guy as feminine as this, but it’s lovely to see them work as a couple. It’s also nice to see different types of people. I hope they stay happy together.

I love how they explain that it's the fem/masc ENERGY they're attracted to, not body parts. It's about energy and vibe. So beautiful.

They are totally polar opposite of each other, but yet so beautiful together

I’m a masculine woman and feminine men have been hitting on me for decades! This is not a new dynamic. I mean I’ve not been with a feminine man, but I don’t think this is odd at all. EVERYONE literally has both masculine and feminine; one is just more dominant than the other in most cases. You two are very cute and full of love. Sending y’all love and light.

Honestly they're a really cute couple, it really intrigues me that they're both so open to their preferences and doesn't suck up to other people's stereotypes. I hope their healthy relationship lasts forever.

In a way this makes sense. I’m surprised there aren’t more couples like this.

I can respect this; people need to realise that you can be more feminine or masculine without being transgender or having to transition.
