Great Vid, thanks for sharing! I just wanted to add an alternative routing option to accommodate 32 Inserts: Card Out 1-32 can be set to the local/stagebox inputs you are using (So the preamps go direct to waves). Inputs (Local - desk layer) 1-32 can be set to Card 1-32 (to return the waves. Caveats: 1. Head amp control would have to be done in Setup->Preamps. 2. Aux sends of channels using plugins would be affected 3. if you don't require fx, don't use plugins - it just has to be routed like the other channels. 4. This wouldn't accommodate send/return effects like reverb with an aux. However... I use a mix of this and your configuration with great results. i.e. 1-24 as above, 25-30 as inserts and sends fx. USB has latency and could be acceptable. Made and sound grid reduces this and also allows tap of for recording.

greetings as at one point we complained about the malfunction for Windows and thank God everything is fine... without a doubt they must have the best support in the industry thank you for solving the Buffer size problem for Windows.

There is an even better solution, if you need more than 6 channels or might like to use the Aux Out ports for external analogue gear or something else. The best solution would be to just leave the insert unassigned, go to the routing menu, go to P16 tab and select Direct Out of the desired channels or any Main/MTX/Bus you like, pre fader. Then go to the card tab and select the P16 channels to be sent to the PC. Now you have done the Output to card thing completely independent from any physical ports or Aux channels on the X32. Of course this is only possible if you're not using P16s, but nobody uses them at the FOH mixer... for monitoring mixers you don't need to have a PC plugins insert chain anyway. Last but not least, make sure to unassign the channels from the mains that are played back from the PC to the console. If you don't run any monitors at all with the console, you can skip the whole process, just send all physical inputs directly to the PC, make your optimization, send it out back to the mixer and assign the channel-inputs to card 1-32, done.

I use live professor and a dongle with my MacBook Pro . We send multi tracks and process audio to the x32 with the Dante card . Super simple works well !

Will you do a similar walkthrough helping people use Live Professor? Not locked into using Waves plugins so you open up to a lot of industry wide plugins. Such as Trigger2 for live drum replacement. I use a few plugins from Native Instruments. And there are thousands of free plugins available out there. You can even use Kontakt and play instruments thru the configuration. With card routing and returns thru unused channels, you could process 16 or more channels versus six via Aud 1-6.

Maybe I got this wrong but the way he sets the routing in the X32 with the user outs makes him lose 6 of the 16 outputs. There is a better way to do this. In the Input Routing page, you change the Aux In block for Card 1 - 6. Then, you go to the Card tab (Expansion card outputs) and for the first 1 - 8 block, you select Aux 1-6/Mon. Voilà. No need to sacrifice outputs. You’ll be able to select any of the 6 aux insert on any channel/bus/matrix. That’s the way I’ve been using Live Professor for years now. This way, I still have the 16 outputs available for other usage (monitor/iem mixes, seperate subs from tops, front fills, delays, etc)

Great video, but please address the latency part of it and also the specs a computer/laptop must have to be able to handle running the plugins with the least amount of latency.

That’s awesome! Congratulations making it on the Waves website.

My next question is… Is it USB connected only? Potentially, could I patch an insert via Dante?

Thanks so much for this. I'm looking to add this into my workflow for our Christmas Services. Wondering about setting in Waves Tune- I've heard its better to leave in Chromatic mode for better correction if singers aren't 100% in choice and relativity of correction

Hi, Thanks for the demo. I remember setting up something like this just using my DAW with a low buffer setting and x32. Do you think there is any real advantage using Super Rack? Also, since I may be using my DAW for audio playback, then I would have to have my DAW and Super Rack running. Thanks!
