I shaved down a 27.5 inch paddle and made it just right. But it was the longer paddle that allowed for it to stay the right height after doing work to it.

You can cut the stick, just buy a bigger paddle. Saw in one of your vids that your coach adviced that to you. Shaving it like that makes you hold that paddle lower which in return makes the stick "too small" for you. Time to use that Motorcity rockers money for a new stick baby.
